Admiral Nimitz Museum of the Pacific War

The Admiral Nimitz Museum of the Pacific War is the only institution in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to telling the story of the Pacific and Asiatic Theaters in World War II. The Gallery’s state-of-the-art exhibition features 40 media installations and around 900 artifacts.

Enchanted Rock Slate Natural Area

The Rock is a huge, pink granite exfoliation dome that rises 425 feet above ground, 1825 feet above sea level, and cover 640 acres. Visitors can enjoy primitive backpacking, camping , hiking, technical and rock climbing and much more.

Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Golf Course

There’s a lot to like about the new Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course. Thanks to nearly $2 million in renovations, it’s been transformed into one of the finest municipal courses in Texas. The course has been lengthened to a 6,686 yards, Par 71 design. Fairways have been carefully sculpted to reward good shot placement. Greens are firm and fast. The course now has 46 bunkers and water on 10 of the 18 holes. Add it all up and you have an exceptional, resort-like golf experience without those resort prices.

Pioneer Museum

Have you ever wondered what life might have been like in one of Texas’ pioneer communities? Come stroll through the grounds of the Pioneer Museum at your leisurely pace & glimpse into the daily lives of the German pioneers of the Texas hill country. The 3.5 acre grounds, which is located in downtown Fredericksburg, feature historic homesteads & buildings donated by founding families of Gillespie County. Among the historic homesteads & buildings are a one-room schoolhouse, a log cabin, a Sunday house, a bath house, a barn, a smokehouse that showcase artifacts and architecture which help to preserve and tell their story.

Rockbox Theater

Founded in 2007, Rockbox is a live music venue located just 99 steps off of the historic Hill Country main street of Fredericksburg, TX. The theater has entertained thousands of people since then with some of the best songs ever written. Built inside what was originally a furniture warehouse, Rockbox is a state-of-the-art entertainment venue that tastefully preserves the older elements of the building’s industrial roots.

Wild Seed Farms

Wildseed Farms has been growing fields of wildflowers for the production of seed for over 35 years. It is the nation’s largest working wildflower farm with over 200 acres in Fredericksburg Texas alone. There is no charge for admission and is open year around, 7 days a week, 9:30am – 6:00pm.
